Business Challenges
The client needed a brand-new product in front of users fast, on every platform, and built to fit an early-stage budget.
Reach on Every Platform
The product had to run on Web, iOS, and Android. To avoid the cost and delay of three separate native builds, the DevCom team suggested a single cross-platform codebase so all three could launch together.
Speed to Market
As an early-stage product preparing for its founding user base, the client needed a working app quickly, then fast iteration on real feedback.
Building from Scratch
DevCom took the client’s concept and design and delivered a fully functional application.
AI Prototypes to Production
The client’s UI was prototyped in Lovable using AI-driven generation of requirements and designs. DevCom needed a repeatable way to turn those fast-moving prototypes into stable, production-ready features without losing design fidelity.
Trust-First Experience
In a category built on trust, the app had to feel polished and reliable from day one, and it needed an admin and moderation layer to keep it that way.
Solution
DevCom owned the full development lifecycle and worked as a single team toward the client’s product vision.
We selected React Native with Expo, so one codebase could power Web, iOS, and Android at once, backed by Supabase and PostgreSQL on a modern 2026 stack. One team covered all three platforms instead of three teams working in parallel, which cut duplicated effort and kept the launch dates aligned rather than staggered.
The client builds interactive prototypes in Lovable, using AI to generate and iterate on requirements and designs at speed. The DevCom team set up a workflow to convert those prototypes into production-ready features quickly, keeping the path from concept to shippable code short.
Starting with a lean team of two frontend developers and one backend developer, we delivered the complete mobile-first application in about three weeks, then moved into a structured change-request phase for refinements.
We built the platform’s core experiences: trusted circles for sharing recommendations with a chosen audience like colleagues, family, or an inner network; collections users can curate for themselves or share publicly; and an interactive map powered by the Google Maps Platform that lets users browse and pin recommended places by real-world location.
Alongside the consumer app, we delivered a separate administrative application for managing users, moderating content, and protecting the integrity a trust-based platform depends on.
Across the change-request phase, we adjusted features, UI, colors, and categories on client feedback, with dedicated QA testing each iteration. The platform is now live in production for its Founding Circle of early members ahead of public launch, and our team continues to deliver new features.
Value Delivered
Three Platforms from One Build
- A single React Native and Expo codebase gave the client full Web, iOS, and Android coverage, avoiding the cost and delay of three separate native builds.
Faster Time to Market
- The shared codebase and Lovable-to-production workflow took the client from AI prototype to a complete mobile-first application in roughly three weeks.
Lower Cost, Simpler Maintenance
- One codebase instead of three keeps ongoing development lean and maintenance simple as the product grows.
A Flexible Foundation
- The architecture absorbed a major mid-project scope expansion and now supports the live platform as new features roll out ahead of public launch.
Polished, Trust-First Experience
- Through iterative design refinement and QA on every iteration, we delivered the reliable, high-quality experience a trust-based platform depends on.
Technologies used
We chose a stack that builds and publishes the iOS and Android apps as one unified process. This made the first release faster and build issues quicker to fix than with a traditional App Store and Google Play setup. For the client, that means getting new features to users sooner and spending less on each release.
