Intake to Online Auction

Client overview

This platform runs a high-volume salvage operation that takes in damaged vehicles and moves them through a full lifecycle, from collection to final sale. Up to 500 vehicles enter the system daily, and online vehicle auctions are a key sales channel where salvage stock is listed and sold to buyers. The client wanted to connect the central salvage CRM directly to the online auction platform. This would allow vehicles to move from intake to auction without manual re-entry so results flow straight back into a single system, where they decide the most profitable route for each new vehicle.

Business Challenges

Salvage vehicles needed to reach online auctions quickly and accurately. However, the auction ran as a separate system from the CRM that managed the rest of the lifecycle.

  • ➤ Auction as a core sales channel: A large share of salvage stock is sold through online auctions, so getting vehicles listed fast directly affects revenue.
  • ➤ Manual, error-prone handoffs: Moving vehicle data from the CRM into the auction by hand cost time and introduced mistakes.
  • ➤ Two disconnected systems: The CRM and the online auction platform each held their own data, with no reliable link keeping them aligned.
  • ➤ No single view of outcomes: Auction results had to find their way back into the CRM to keep every vehicle’s record complete.
  • ➤ Disposal decisions without data: Each incoming vehicle could go to auction, be dismantled for parts, or be scrapped for metal, but the team had no quick way to tell which route would earn the most.

Solution

DevCom integrated the salvage CRM with the online auction platform so vehicles and their data could move automatically between the two.

Vehicle Data Flows Straight to Auction

Vehicles prepared in the CRM, together with their photos, valuation, and condition details, are sent to the online auction platform without manual re-entry. Stock reaches buyers faster and with fewer steps.

Results Flow Back to One Record

Auction outcomes are returned to the CRM and attached to the right vehicle. This keeps each record complete and gives the team a single, accurate view of the full lifecycle.

Auction History Guides Every Disposal Decision

Historical auction results feed the CRM’s route. It compares similar vehicles by make, model, year, and damage level, and it shows the expected return from auction, parts, or scrap, so every new vehicle goes where it earns the most.

Two Systems Kept in Sync

The integration keeps the CRM and the auction platform aligned, so the same vehicle data stays consistent on both sides instead of being maintained twice.
