DevCom Compliance with GDPR

DevCom Compliance with GDPR

The GDPR aims to strengthen personal data protection and impacts the way we all do business. Compliance with the GDPR is a top priority for DevCom and our customers.

What is the GDPR?

The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR,  which went into effect on May 25, 2018, replaced the 1995 EU Data Protection Directive.

The GDPR enhances the existing framework for companies that process the personal data of EU-based residents. It:

  • Regulates how businesses can collect, use, and store personal data.
  • Builds upon current documentation and reporting requirements to increase accountability.
  • Authorizes fines on businesses who fail to meet its requirements.

Businesses and organizations that process the personal data of EU-based individuals are now preparing for the new regulation, and DevCom is no exception.
